Thunderous Respite

It has been thunder storming here for about 3 days! Off and on it storms and then we have these moments of sweltering, beautiful sun. On one of those interludes we all took a walk back to the pond. I thought I would post some pond pictures just because most of our friends and fam have not ventured to the "back 30!" We have a large coi in our pond that my dad deposited out of his yard pond. We call him The White Whale because he is absolutely huge now! He glides around like a giant white ghost in the water.

On Father's Day it doesn't matter how skinny your belly is - no one gets bites of the 4 pound steak! - Well at least not until the King gets to the end... then he is much more generous!

First Day

Our first day of summer vacation opened with a loud thunder boomer! We didn't mind - we built a mattress and blanket fort instead! We snacked, crafted, lunched and went to the park. It was so windy that the lake had white caps. We splashed around until it started to rain again and then we ran for the van! After dinner we had our first ever soccer practice! New things can be scary but we still had fun.
